    Scratches the handlebar post I have this cage mounted on my vertical handlebar post, which is about 1-1/4 inch in diameter. When the clamp is in place, the threads on the tightening screw on the quick release lever gouge the post down to the metal. And if the cage moves at all (which it does), the paint is scratched off the handlebar post. I put a piece of heat shrink tubing over the screw threads to prevent this. For now, that seems to work.I agree with the other users who said the cage won’t stay in place…

    Exactly what was needed! I previously purchased and installed a water bottle cage that is made to mount on the handlebars of my wife’s bike….worked well, until she wanted a clip to hold her phone.So to make room for her phone clip I purchased this for the water bottle – – Great concept, however, if not careful – – as almost EVERY OTHER REVIEWER stated—IT WILL SCRATCH THE PAINT ON YOUR FRAME. I mounted this on the top down tube and it held fine, with the exception of a little left/right wobble…so…

    Looks and Works Great. Needs thin rubber piece to make it 5 Star. This Water bottle came as a 4 star product and after installing a thin rubber piece (that other bicycle products that grasp the handlebars bring) that I got from an old speedometer, It became a 5 star product.When I first installed it without the rubber piece, it moved slightly when I inserted and removed the bottle. It was okay, but since the cage holds the bottle so firmly (which is good), I believe the grip would eventually deteriorate and get worse. After installing the rubber…
